About the tour
A full-day private excursion from Florence into the heart of Chianti, with door-to-door hotel pickup in a luxury sedan or minivan. The day centers on a visit to one of the region’s oldest castle estates, with wine production documented since 1596, where guests tour the cellars, learn about the winemaking process, and finish with a wine tasting and “aperitivo” beneath frescoed ceilings. The tour continues to Greve in Chianti, a historic crossroads of pilgrims and merchants, with free time to walk through Piazza Matteotti and browse local wine, oil, and cheese shops. The final stop is Montefioralle, a tiny village overlooking the vineyards that once served as a key point along the Via Francigena pilgrim road. The private driver returns guests to their hotel in Florence at the end of the day.

Chianti Wine Tour from Florence – Tuscany Wine Tour
The tour will begin with your private driver collecting you from your hotel in Florence (another custom location in the area can be agreed) with a luxury sedan or minivan. In the heart of Tuscany, the gently rolling hills capture all the unspoiled appeal of an inspiring area, Chianti.
You will explore Chianti with its hills that have been covered by vineyards for many centuries. A wonderful countryside with renaissance castles and medieval churches particularly famous for the production of wine and olive oil. Along a scenic drive you will reach one of the oldest castles where the wine production is documented since 1596. A visit of the estate, you’ll enter the cellars and learn about the wine production. Finally enjoy a wine tasting and “aperitivo” under beautiful frescoed ceilings.
After the visit the tour will continue with your private driver to Greve in Chianti, an historical crossroad of pilgrims and merchants among the valleys. A stop to the main square of Piazza Matteotti, the time to have a walk under the open porches and some shopping of wine, oil, cheese and other local products.
Just a few kms away from Greve in Chianti you will then visit the village of Montefioralle, overlooking vineyards and olive trees. The tiny village was in the past an important center along the Via Francigena, a pilgrims road, used to connect France with the Vatican.
At the end of the day, the tour will conclude and your private driver will take you back to your hotel in Florence or other desired location.
