About the tour
A full-day private excursion from Rome to Pompeii, with door-to-door hotel pickup in a luxury Mercedes Benz vehicle. After a 3-hour drive south, guests are met by an official archaeological guide for a 2.5-hour walking tour through the ruins of Pompeii, taking in highlights like the thermal baths, the frescoes of the Lupanare, the Macellum and its tabernae, the Basilica, and the House of Faun. Afterward, guests have free time to enjoy lunch in the area, with the guide on hand to recommend the best local restaurants, before the private driver returns everyone to their hotel in Rome. The itinerary can also be extended with a guided visit to Mount Vesuvius and/or a private tour of Naples’ historic center.

Pompeii day trip from Rome – Private tour with driver and archaeological guide to the ruins of Pompeii
The tour will begin with your private driver collecting you from your hotel in Rome (another custom location in the area can be agreed) with a luxury sedan or minivan, and after 3H drive you will reach the Europe’s most compelling archaeological site: the ruins of Pompeii. The site is a stark reminder of the destructive forces that lie deep inside Vesuvius.
Here you will meet your official archeological guide and start a 2,5H walking tour amongst Pompeii sites. This will be an amazing and unique experience. You will take a path that winds its way through the most important monuments of the town. The guide will give you the most interesting basics about Pompeii and will show you the most important places such as the thermal baths, the frescos of the Lupanare brothel, the Macellum with its “tabernae”, famous workshops located in the commercial streets, the Basilica and the House of Faun.
After the tour, you will have free time to enjoy delicious food from the area. Your guide will be happy to suggest you the best restaurants.
At the end of the day, the tour will then conclude with a transfer back to your hotel in Rome or other desired location.
