About the tour
A full-day private excursion from Rome combining culture and wine, with door-to-door hotel pickup in a luxury Mercedes Benz vehicle. After a 1.5-hour drive, guests reach Orvieto, a medieval hilltop town set on a dramatic rock plateau above vineyards, olive groves, and cypress trees, known for its breathtaking Gothic cathedral. After exploring the historic center, the tour continues to a winery in the surrounding Umbrian countryside, where guests visit the estate, learn about the production process and local grape varieties, and finish with a wine tasting. The private driver then returns guests to their hotel in Rome at the end of the day.

Orvieto & Winery day trip from Rome – Private tour to Orvieto with Wine Visit & Tasting
The tour will begin with your private driver collecting you from your hotel in Rome (another custom location in the area can be agreed) with a luxury sedan or minivan, and after 1.5H drive you will reach Orvieto.
Set atop a gigantic plug of rock above fields streaked with vines, olive groves and cypress trees, Orvieto is one of Umbria’s main attractions. Its austere medieval centre is a classic of its kind, with weaving lanes, brown stone houses and cobbled piazzas. But what sets the town apart from its medieval neighbours is its breathtaking cathedral. This extraordinary vision, one of Italy’s greatest Gothic churches, is stunning inside and out, with a sensational facade and frescoes.
After the visit to the town you will stop in a winery located in the beautiful Umbrian countryside just outside Orvieto. You will visit the estate, learn about the production process and the varieties of local grapes and finally enjoy a wine tasting.
At the end of the day, the tour will then conclude with a transfer back to your hotel in Rome or other desired location.
