Amalfi Coast day trip from Naples – Tour with private driver to see the most beautiful sites in one day
The tour will begin with your private driver collecting you from your hotel in Naples (another custom location in the area can be agreed) with a luxury sedan or minivan, and after 1H drive you will reach the beautiful Amalfi Coast located south of the city, world famous for the romantic scenery, the rich history and the excellent food.
Driving along a scenic road, your first stop will be Sorrento, the town of lemons, high level hotels and plunging cliffs that cut through the heart of the historical core. After a short sightseeing you will then arrive in Positano, a lovely and trendy town placed in a beautiful panoramic position overlooking the sea. The tour will continue along this romantic coastline where you can stop to take beautiful pictures.
After you’ll pass by the towns of Praiano and Conca dei Marini before reaching Amalfi. This is a charming village with a glorious past as it was one of the four Maritime Republics (together with Venice, Pisa and Genoa). Here you’ll have free time for a walk starting from the port to the center with the beautiful cathedral of Sant’Andrea and Piazza Duomo, and if you wish, you can also have lunch in a typical restaurant to enjoy the delicious local food.
Last stop, if there will be enough time, is Ravello. Founded in the 5th century as a sanctuary from barbarian invaders fresh from sacking Rome, this lofty town was built, in contrast to other Amalfi settlements, up on a hill rather than down on the coast. An amazing place for the breathtaking views over the sea!
At the end of the day, the tour will then conclude with a transfer back to your hotel in Naples or other desired location.
Optional: this tour is designed to be done only with your private driver, but if you wish we can provide a local guide who will show you around each place. Please note that the driver will not be able to leave the car unattended during the various stops.
