Itinerary
Lake Maggiore day trip from Milan
The tour will begin with your private driver collecting you from your hotel in Milan (another custom location in the area can be agreed) with a luxury sedan or minivan. After 1,5H drive you will reach Stresa, our first tour site. You will spend a day at stunning Lake Maggiore in Italy’s beautiful Piedmont region with this day tour from Milan. You’ll wander the picturesque streets of Stresa on the lake, before cruising out to Isola Bella Island and Rocca di Angera.
Once you reach the town of Stresa you will take a ferry-boat to get in Isola Bella. This is the most famous of the Borromean Islands sitting in the middle of Lake Maggiore and hosts the Borromeo Palace, one of the family residencies built on 1630’s. Together with the Borromeo Palace you’ll have the chance to admire the spectacular Italian-style gardens. Here you can also have some free time for lunch in a typical local restaurant facing the lake.
The tour will continue with a ferry-boat back to the pear where your driver is waiting for you and proceed to a bigger car-ferry that will allow you to cross the lake direction of Rocca di Angera, a Medieval fortress built on top of a hill overlooking the lake.
The tour will then conclude with a transfer back to your hotel in Milan or other desired location.
Optional for this tour, we can provide an official local guide that will lead you during the day trip to Lake Maggiore.
